MAKING A DIFFERENCE : Naming of ‘McDowall House’ takes place to honour family

The recent naming ceremony of the Longfellow location to the “McDowall House” was a momentous event in the history of Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario (ALSO). Taking place on April 5th, the event honored the remarkable legacy of Stanley and Audrey McDowall, whose compassion and generosity have long been an inspiration to ALSO’s mission.

Members of the McDowall family were in attendance, including Jim McDowall, who spoke at the event alongside ALSO Executive Director Leigh Vachon and Foundation Board President Ali Coppola. ALSO staff and esteemed Board Members joined to mark the special occasion, unveiling the new name sign and the inaugural Wings of Remembrance Memorial YouTube Channel.

The renaming of the Longfellow location as McDowall House reflects the profound impact of the McDowall family’s enduring support. This event not only recognized the significant contributions of Stanley and Audrey McDowall but also celebrated the values and dedication that have guided ALSO’s journey over the years.

As ALSO continues its mission of providing exceptional care and assistance to its residents, the McDowall House stands as a testament to the ongoing legacy of the McDowall family and their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in the community.
